This is Buck, a 7yr old Chinese Crested who came into
rescue a few years ago. He came out of a hoarder type situation where he was
locked in an upstairs hall and living on a 6in. floor of dried feces. He was
underweight and malnutritioned, and the ammonia levels from urine in the
house were unbearable to the humans who rescued him. He came into rescue
and I was his second foster-mom, now forever-mom. Buck got back to health in
New York with his first foster before coming out to Arizona. Due to the
way he lived prior to rescue, he has horrible residual health issues. Buck has
less than half of his teeth, TMJ in his jaw, and degenerative issues in his lower
back. He spent months on Rimadyl and Tylenol, still he limped and cried when he
yawned. I got a sample of Actisyn at a horse rescue event, I have had him on it
for a month, and he's not cured (I wish), BUT he is NOT in pain! He gets up and
down from the couch again, and he still has TMJ and cannot open his mouth fully, but he doesn't cry when
he does. I'm just glad that I can give him something that really helps, and NOT
have to worry that it may hurt him. (Rimadyl is BAD for the liver).
Thanks from me and Buck!
